Cape Town International Airport (CPT) is about 20 km from the city centre. An Uber or Bolt is easiest and cheapest at roughly R150–250 to the CBD or V&A Waterfront (~20–30 min). The MyCiTi Route 100 bus runs to the City Bowl for ~R90–120 (buy a myconnect card at the airport kiosk). Metered airport taxis are R250–450. Best time to visit
Seasons are flipped: summer (Nov–Mar) is warm, dry and best for beaches and Table Mountain, though windy. Winter (Jun–Aug) is cooler, greener and wetter (and whale season on the coast). Spring and autumn are lovely and quieter.

Getting around
Cape Town is spread out — rent a car or use Uber/Bolt, which are cheap and reliable. The MyCiti bus covers the centre, Atlantic seaboard and airport. Avoid walking alone after dark in quiet areas. The <strong>MyCiTi</strong> bus uses a tap <strong>myconnect</strong> card and commuter rail is best avoided; the <strong>City Sightseeing</strong> hop-on-hop-off bus (~R280, 1-day) easily links Table Mountain, the V&A and the beaches.

<strong>City Sightseeing Cape Town</strong> — the original red bus — loops the V&A Waterfront, the Table Mountain cableway, Camps Bay and Kirstenbosch (~R280, 1-day). It is the easiest and safest way to link the city's far-flung highlights.

South Africa uses the rand (ZAR) and is great value. Tipping is expected — 10–15% in restaurants, a few rand for petrol attendants and car guards. Cards are widely accepted; carry some cash.
