Da Nang International Airport (DAD) is unusually close — just 3 km from the city centre and ~6 km from My Khe Beach (10–15 min). Grab is the easiest and cheapest at ~80,000–100,000 VND to the beach; a metered taxi is 100,000–150,000 VND. No train or bus needed for such a short hop. Best time to visit
February to May is the sweet spot — dry, warm and not yet fierce. June to August is hot and busy with domestic tourists. September to November is the rainy season and can bring typhoons and flooding in Hoi An.

Getting around
Grab is cheap and everywhere. Da Nang to Hoi An is about 45 minutes and roughly 250,000-350,000 VND by car; many hotels run a free shuttle. Scooters are easy to hire but the coastal traffic is fast.

Hoi An after dark
The Ancient Town goes vehicle-free in the evening and the lanterns come on around 18:00. The 14th day of each lunar month is the Full Moon Lantern Festival, when electric lights go off entirely.
