Montréal-Trudeau (YUL) is about 20 km from the city centre. The 747 Express bus runs 24/7 to downtown and metro stations for C$11.25, and that ticket doubles as a 24-hour transit pass (~45–60 min). Best time to visit
Summer (Jun–Sep) is festival season and glorious; fall colours on Mount Royal are stunning. Winters are very cold and snowy (Dec–Mar) but cosy — and the Underground City keeps you warm. Spring can be slushy.

The Métro is clean, fast and cheap; Old Montreal and downtown are very walkable, and the BIXI bike-share is everywhere in summer. A little French ("bonjour", "merci") is warmly received. The <strong>STM</strong> metro and buses take an <strong>OPUS</strong> card or contactless; an <strong>unlimited 1-day pass</strong> is ~C$11 (3-day ~C$21.25), and <strong>BIXI</strong> bikes are great in summer.
