From Phuket International Airport (HKT), in the island's north: the Phuket Smart Bus runs down the west coast to Patong and the beaches for a flat 100 THB (about hourly, ~1 hr to Patong). A metered taxi or airport limousine is roughly ฿700–900 to Patong, ฿400–500 to Phuket Town; Grab is the only app allowed to pick up at the airport. No train on the island. November to April is the dry season with calm seas — ideal for island-hopping. May–October is the monsoon: cheaper and greener, but rougher seas can cancel boat trips and some beaches get strong currents.

Getting around
Phuket is large and taxis are pricey — many rent a scooter (ride carefully; wear a helmet) or pre-book transfers/Grab. Beaches and the sights are spread out, so plan day by day around one area. Phuket has no metro or real public transport — songthaews, tuk-tuks (negotiate hard), <strong>Grab</strong>, or a rented scooter/car get you around; the airport <strong>Smart Bus</strong> runs to the main beaches (~100 THB).

Phi Phi, Phang Nga Bay and the Similans are full-day boat trips — book a well-reviewed operator, check the weather, and prefer speedboats with small groups. Maya Bay has entry rules to protect the reef.

Thailand gives Indian passport holders visa-free entry for up to 30 days (Cabinet decision, 14 Jul 2026 — it replaced the earlier 60-day scheme). No fee, no visa on arrival.
